CFRO-FM , also known as Vancouver Co-Op Radio, hosted a British Columbia Campus and Community Radio Conference in Vancouver, BC, on October 20-21, 2012.
This conference was part of the Sounds Co-operative Project — a collaboration between Kootenay Co-op Radio (CJLY-FM) and the NCRA that celebrated 2012 as the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives by promoting co-ops through community radio, encouraging radio stations to be more co-operative, and to help emerging stations to set themselves up as co-ops. The work was funded by Co-operative Development Initiative.
The conference, which took place during Co-op Week, included sessions on creating news programming, an audacity tech workshop, audio art, interviewing musicians, social justice, and co-operatives.
