The Ovayok Broadcasting Society is a local radio station in Cambridge Bay Nunavut which is located above the Arctic Circle at the 70th Parallel in Canada’s Arctic. Cambridge Bay, is an Inuit community that is on Victoria Island, the heart of Canada’s Arctic, which overlooks the Northwest Passage. Beautiful landscapes, a large variety of birds, wolves, foxes, rabbits and very rarely we’ve also seen polar bears living in their natural habitat. Cambridge Bay is a place of great fishing hence it’s Inuit name of Ikaluktutiak means exactly that.
In the midst of this Arctic paradise we are 97.7 CFBI Cambridge Bay, the voice of the community. A local radio station that desires to be a local leader and voice that focuses on providing relevant content through radio broadcasting that promotes our Inuit Culture, meets the overall needs of our community, while providing a source of information and quality entertainment.
