Membership Coordinator and Resonating Reconciliation Project Materials Coordinator - Kari Benninghaus

Kari recently completed her degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights with a minor in Aboriginal Issues at the University of Ottawa. Growing up in Sault Ste. Marie in Northern Ontario, she understands the impact local community radio can have on a region.

She is excited to be working with NCRA members and to be a part of the Resonating Reconciliation project, including the chance to begin to reconcile with the legacy of Indian Residential Schools. Click on the title of this post for more.

In 2009 she worked with a M├ętis Family Resource Centre, then for Aboriginal Affairs on land claims in the North, and was part of the team to assist the first Self-Government Agreement in the Prairies. She has also worked as a media coordinator for a project on human rights in Pakistan, and has been trained in negotiation.
