The Community Media Leadership Summit brings together leaders from campus & community radio, Indigenous stations, campus press, and independent podcasting.

The 2026 theme, “The Golden Ages of Community Media,” highlights intergenerational perspectives, institutional memory, and shared sector priorities.

All sessions will be recorded and made available to registrants.  More content details to be added, but registration is open.

Monday, January 26 — Youth in Community Media (Under 22)
Youth-led discussion on community storytelling, audience engagement, and the future of local media.

Tuesday, January 27 — Governance Caucus
Board structures, elections, ethics, succession planning, onboarding, and leadership transitions.

Wednesday, January 28 — Finance Caucus
Budgeting, grant writing, fundraising, revenue diversification, partnerships, and shared services.

Thursday, January 29 — Operations Caucus
Volunteer management, HR, programming systems, newsroom workflows, accessibility, and digital platforms.

Friday, January 30 — Experienced Broadcasters in Community Media
End-of-career reflections on mentorship, institutional memory, sustainability, and elder leadership.


Other Events

More guests will be added to the sessions above, including Alex Freeman of the Community Radio Fund of Canada, who will speak about the Community Radio Initiative 2026.
