AGM Announcement!
A couple of important things we wanted to share with you. First, We are excited to announce the date for the upcoming AGM in 2024, we hope to see you there!
Event Name: NCRA/ANREC AGM
Date: Thursday, July 25th, 2024
Time: 1pm-3pm Eastern
Location: Zoom (Registration will be released approximately 30 days in advance of the meeting, as per our bylaws)
Second, The Leadership Policy was recently updated, thanks to the Equity Committee, the Nominations Committee wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some important points in this policy.
The NCRA/ANREC takes a definitive stance in supporting diversity and accessibility among our membership and at the NCRA/ANREC. We begin by referring to our Statement of Principles:
Be It Resolved, That the NCRA holds as a fundamental principle that community broadcasting serves the needs of socially, culturally, politically and economically disadvantaged groups in society.
Be It Further Resolved, That member stations of the NCRA encourage programming policies that prohibit material that is sexist, racist, ageist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-Semitic, or that maligns differently-abled or economically disadvantaged peoples.
Joining the board comes with responsibilities and obligations but also excellent learning opportunities such as leadership and governance experience, decision-making, professional growth and more! It also comes with benefits like networking opportunities from attending the Station Manager Summit and NCRC for free!
We will continue to value and uphold this policy, but we need your help to do so; if you know someone at your station, including volunteers, who is interested in joining the conversation and wants to be part of the Board, please share this along and keep a lookout for nominations forms before the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
