Listen Canada: Uniting Canadian Voices in a National Broadcast Event
Ottawa, ON – The National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC) proudly announces Listen Canada, a one-time national campaign dedicated to amplifying Canadian voices across the airwaves. Taking place the week of March 24th, 2025, Listen Canada will culminate in an exclusive nationwide broadcast day on March 31st, where participating community and campus radio stations will feature only Canadian-produced content.
This initiative directly responds to the U.S.’s newly imposed tariffs on Canadian imports and exports, reinforcing the importance of supporting and celebrating Canada’s rich and diverse creative landscape. It builds on the recognition of our commercial and public broadcasters, who have also led this focus on highlighting Canadian voices.
“Canadian artists, journalists, and storytellers are the heartbeat of our cultural identity. Listen Canada is an opportunity to unite, amplify, and celebrate their contributions while strengthening the national media ecosystem,” says Barry Rooke, Executive Director of NCRA/ANREC.
