On June 21 we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day — a time to recognize and honour the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.
Campus, community, and Indigenous radio stations play an important role in sharing Indigenous voices, stories, music, news, and perspectives year-round. Throughout June, many stations across the NCRA/ANREC network have been highlighting Indigenous artists, broadcasting Indigenous-focused programming, and creating space for conversations that reflect the diversity of Indigenous communities.
We would like to recognize and thank the stations and programmers who contributed materials, recordings, station greetings, photos, and information to help celebrate this month. Their work demonstrates the vital role community broadcasting plays in supporting Indigenous storytelling and cultural expression.

The NCRA/ANREC also continues to support Indigenous artists through !earshot Digital Distribution, which features thousands of tracks from Indigenous musicians, helping connect artists with radio stations across the country.
As we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and Indigenous History Month, we extend our gratitude to the broadcasters, journalists, artists, knowledge keepers, and community members who continue to share stories and strengthen Indigenous media in Canada.
