Join Us at NCRC45 in Halifax, NS – June 15-18, 2027!
We are excited to invite you to NCRC45, our annual national conference for campus and community radio stations, taking place in Halifax, NS, from June 15 to the 18th, 2027! We know it is a little early, but we are excited to see you all there, which is why you can mark your calendars now and buy your early worm ticket (get it? Cause early bird catches the worm)!
This is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow broadcasters, learn from industry experts, and celebrate the community radio sector’s achievements.
Why Attend?
NCRC45 will feature insightful workshops, station tours, and networking opportunities to help your station thrive. You will also have the chance to join the celebration of our sector’s successes at the Awards Gala.
We will be launching the NCRC45 website in the new year. The website will feature up-to-date event details, easy registration, and a user-friendly interface for managing your participation in the conference. Stay tuned!
Along with the website launching in the new year, we will be putting out a call for presenters during that time, so if that is something you might be interested in, start thinking about what session you would like to do!
Early worm registration is open!
In the meantime, save the date and get ready for an unforgettable conference experience. More details, including residence/hotel registration and the conference schedule, will be updated on the website. Early Worm Tickets start at $275 for in-person tickets until October 1st for those who wish to purchase as part of the 2026 financial year.

Note: Funding for underrepresented individuals to attend the NCRC provided by the Community Radio Fund of Canada will be included when the NCRC website is launched – expected by the end of 2026.

JOURS DE LA RADIO 2026
Under the theme “Radio from Yesterday to Tomorrow : Adapting to Endure,” the event will feature conferences, workshops, roundtables, and networking opportunities that will, we hope, equip you to navigate with confidence and optimism through an industry undergoing significant upheaval. It is clear that we can no longer “do radio the way we used to.” We must therefore adapt to survive and highlight the timeless strengths that set us apart from others!
New to this year’s program, journalism will be featured in two sessions: a panel discussing the issues, challenges, and best practices surrounding community journalism, as well as a workshop to help you develop or update your news policy. It serves as the roadmap that guides editorial decisions, sets the framework for journalistic practices, and clarifies responsibilities within your radio station. As the requirements of funding agencies continue to evolve, adopting a news policy will soon become a prerequisite for media organizations seeking funding. You simply cannot afford to do without one. This workshop will be offered by the Consortium of Official Language Minority Community Media, the IJL’s governing body, which also supports numerous media outlets across the country in structuring their journalistic practices and developing tools tailored to their specific contexts.
We’ll also test your journalism knowledge during Thursday night’s Trivia—may the best team win! For all these reasons, don’t hesitate to bring your journalists along!

 | Funding Support: In the fall, there will be a likely call for needs-based participation support to reduce barriers to learning and professional development, enabling attendance at this cross-sectoral conference. Priority will be given to applicants from rural, remote, Indigenous, Northern, underserved, small-budget, first-time participants, regional and low-cost participation options (such as carpooling) and historically underrepresented stations and communities. More information to come. |
Community Media Leadership Summit
The Community Media Leadership Summit, previously the Station Manager Summit, will run from February 3rd to the 5th, 2027. If in person, the summit will be taking place in Windsor or Ottawa, Ontario, for 2-3 days. (Depending on grant funding).
We are waiting for a few things to be confirmed towards the end of September, but we hope you can join us, either in person or virtually!
